Pop Health Club

Pop Health Club

UT School of Public Health and South Central AHEC hosts its first ever Pop Health Club meeting on Saturday, October 14, 2017 for high school students all across San Antonio. The club meets on a monthly basis to engage with students and expose them to the meaning of population health, how it relates to their own health, and the future opportunities and careers in population health. The club is free, and open to all high school students. They meet every second Saturday of the month from 9 to 12:00pm at UT School of Public Health. It incorporates not only presentations but also several hands on activities as well as a chance to network with other students and community agencies and university researchers. Some of the monthly module includes mental health, family history and genetics, nutrition and heart disease. The students will also have the opportunity to meet with students from different health profession programs to ask questions and gain insight.
