AHEC Scholars Program is Accepting Applicants: The South Texas AHEC Program is now accepting applicants for the AHEC Scholars Program. We are hoping to recruit at least 5 students from two of our AHEC areas (South Central and South Coastal) for our pilot, which will take place from March 1st – May 31st. Students from all health disciplines (nursing, medicine, dentistry, OT, PT, social work, counseling, etc.) are invited to participate. During the program, students will be expected to complete 10 hours of self-directed online learning modules focused on interprofessional education and 10 hours of team-based interprofessional practical experience at a community-based organization or clinic. Networking, mentorship, career building, and a $1,000 stipend will be made available for students who participate and complete the program.
