What is Chagas?
Chagas disease is a life-threatening disease that affects more than 8 million people and is found in the Southern U.S. and Latin America. It is spread through a parasite that comes from the "kissing bug" or "chinche" and can be difficult to diagnose. Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes (ECHO®) uses teleconference technology to connect health professionals to a multi-disciplinary team of experts to share knowledge and build community capacity to deliver best-practice care. Presented by: Paula Stigler Granados PhD: Assistant Professor of Public Health at San Diego State University and Belinda Flores RN, BS: Director, South Coastal Area Health Education Center (AHEC).
