Southwest Border AHEC Successes
Dynamic duo Brenda Hoffman & Karem Hiarmes combating health deficits in Eagle Pass (covering Texas’ Maverick, Kinney, Val Verde, Edwards, Real, Uvalde and Zavala counties), impressed visitors from the SATX home office with the February 20th Alzheimer’s CareGiver Training at the Kickapoo Tribe of Texas Wellness Center. Thank you to UTHSA’s Dr. Carole White and Ms. Sara Masoud plus AA’s Ms. Ginny Funk (pictured below) for their high-quality presentations.
Even more appreciative learners came to the dementia training on February 28th for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Town Hall Meeting at the local United Medical Center Conference Room. Thank you again to AHEC stars Brenda and Karem for their skillful event coordination and kudos to AA rep Maxine Vierya for expertly honchoing an informative two hour talk and facilitating lively follow-up discussion.
