AHEC Scholar of the Month for November 2019
For November 2019 is Lucy Hernandez! Congratulations Lucy on your exemplary work as an AHEC Scholar! Lucy is a Promotora/Community Health Worker from Eagle Pass, TX. Lucy has been in the AHEC Scholar Program since Spring of 2019 and represents the Southwest Border AHEC. Lucy enjoys working with others and has is committed to helping to provide services to help meet the needs of individuals in her community. Lucy is a retired Texas DSHS case manager, where she conducted interviews with clients to help determine eligibility and provided referrals for assistance programs. When asked to comment on her thoughts about the AHEC Scholars Program, she replied “I’ve been blessed to be part of such a wonderful organization and have gained so much knowledge and experience. I’m truly grateful for my AHEC family!” Bravo Lucy on all your amazing accomplishments!
